R4DS-DS.COM – Another Satisfied customer – Me!

I’d just like to say thanks to R4DS-DS.com, as they don’t appear to have any way to post positive comments about their service.

I ordered two R4DS cards direct from them in Hong Kong to replace the ones in my kids’ DS lites (one was seriously malfunctioning, and the other was simply dead).

Both cards arrived within 10 days, and worked straight out of the box. A small instruction sheet gave me the exact URLs to download the operating system kernels for the R4s, and simple instructions on what to do. (I’m an R4 veteran, so I didn’t need this, but other suppliers could learn a lot from this approach..)

I’d like to point out that the total cost for TWO R4 cards, delivered and paid via paypal, was £15.. which is less than half what Memorybits/R4i/Zoombits charge…
(I simply re-used the micro-sd cards from the previous R4s, and installed the new firmware..)

I had a bit of bother with one of the old SD cards, as the dodgy R4 had chewed up the File Allocation Table, and several files. It had also added several nonsense files, which were not deleteable… Windows “repair” functions made no difference.. Solution was to copy all the files off, remove anything iffy, format the SD card, and then copy the files back on. Then add the new OS. (meaning copy a few files an folders.. no config needed) Sorted. You really can’t go wrong with R4 cards, just make sure you have a backup on your PC..
